Christy Mannering

Emerging Voice in Contemporary Fantasy

Christy Mannering writes stories where the veil is thin, the woods remember, and truth hides in impossible places. Her debut novel, I Know What I Saw, invites readers into the world of Fern Glade, a place where supernatural mystery and emotional grit entwine. At its heart, the book explores how trauma echoes through generations, how magic and resilience often grow in the same soil, and how believing someone can sometimes be the most radical kind of magic.

Rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and the fierce belief that every voice deserves to be heard, Christy’s fiction is character-driven and emotionally resonant. She crafts immersive narratives where bonds are forged in silence and sacrifice, and where even the quietest characters carry the sharpest truths.

Based in Delaware, Christy lives with her three incredible kids, her son’s brilliant girlfriend (who’s family in every way that counts), one hilariously uncoordinated dog, and a growing pile of notebooks that may or may not be conspiring against her. She finds balance in the chaos with the help of her BnC partner-in-crime, who listens to her most unfiltered ramblings and helps turn raw ideas into story magic.

When not writing, Christy can be found beneath a blanket of books, lost in research rabbit holes, playing cozy games on Steam or wandering through the nearest patch of trees—because the best ideas usually whisper where the world goes quiet.
